The area of Lake Erie is 9,930 square miles, is 241 miles long and has a depth of just 68 feet, the shallowest of the Great Lakes. This Lake is the thirteen largest Lake in the world. There are also about 31 Islands located in the western side of the lake 13 lies in Canada, and 18 in the U.S. The water of lake varies from month to month with the highest lake levels in October and November and lowest in the winters. Lake Erie is 4,000 years old. It became cold and freeze in winters, the first ice usually forms in late November, and by January it locks into place. The Lake Erie water snakes, Asian Craps, And snakehead fishes are found in the Lake. More fishes include trout, bass, salmon, whitefesh, smelt and many others can also be found and is great location foe Fishing. Just because of the lake’s relatively mild temperatures it became problem for Visitors who came for fishing. There are also numerous public parks around the lake.
