Vernazza – Located in Italy is the next to northernmost town and possibly most attractive of the five towns of Cinque Terre. Colorful, antique homes stick to impossible cliffs. A beautiful small harbor nestles under the shadows of an ancient castle and a dramatic seaside church. The town was exiled and in a state of emergency for many months. Vernazza has returned and with hard work and help from people around the world it is open to travelers again. Most of the shops and restaurants are back in business and as beautiful as ever. The park includes a group of five attractive seaside villages suspended high atop the rocky Mediterranean shoreline. Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore, the towering hills behind them, and the wonderful Ligurian shore itself are all included in this special national park.
