Spotted Lake (Kliluk) – Located near the city of Osoyoos in British Colombia. The lake is formed by strangely-patterned body of water. It covers the area of 15.2 hectares (38 acres). Spotted contains numerous different minerals. Magnesium sulfate, calcium and sodium sulphates are some if the minerals found here. It also has very high concentrations of 8 other minerals as well as some small amounts of four others such as silver and titanium. In summers, the lake dries out, its mud converting into white, pale yellow, green and blue circles depending on its mineral composition. The lake is known as “Kliluk” to the people of the Okanagan Valley.
