Dolomiti di Sesto Nature Park – Located in the north east of the Dolomites and contains the areas of Dobbiaco, Sesto and San Candido. It includes numerous famous mountain peaks. The most well-known peaks rising in its area are the Cima Undici (3,092 m), the Cima Dodici (3,094 m), the Monte Paterno (2,744 m) and definitely the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (2,999 m) which is the symbol of the Alta Pusteria and rock formation of worldwide renown. Around two thirds of this area are made up of rocks and detrital. There is single one lake of significant size in the park, which is called the Landro Lake. Eagle is the most common bird lining in this nature park, but also singing birds such as the white-winged snow finch or the Alpine accentor have their home in this park. Sesto Dolomites Nature Park is part of the UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. The park has been officially renamed and changed from Dolomiti di Sesto Nature Park into Tre Cime di Lavaredo Nature Park in February, 2010.
