Geghard Monastery – Located at river Gorge Goght, in Armenia. It was founded in the 4th century AD. The Monastery of Geghard is a popular tourist destination and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is country’s greatest spiritual and cultural centers. It is a unique architectural construction. The visitors who visit Geghard also select to visit the neighboring Garni temple, a Parthenon-like structure situated further down the Azat River. Some of the churches inside the monastery complex together with many engraved and free-standing khachkars is an exceptional sight and is being one of the most visited tourist destinations in Armenia.
