Lake Seliger – Located in the northern parts of Novgorod Oblast in Russia. The Lake is formed by the melting of glaciers. The Lake has an area of 212 km sq. and average depth of 5.8 meters. Seliger Lake contains a large system of lakes connected by effluent. It has numerous small islands and has an attractive landscape if forest and hills. The Lake is surrounded by forests mostly of pine woods with many berries and mushrooms. Numerous islands, picturesque coastline and of course, the monastery Nil Deserts annually attract thousands of tourists.
