Castel Sant’ Angelo (Castle of the Holy Angel) – This fortress was First built in the 2nd century as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian, it was later renovated into a large castle where Popes could take refuge in turbulent times. Castel Sant’Angelo, located on the right bank of the Tiber river. It has had a turbulent history, even by Rome’s standards. The National Museum of Castel Sant’Angelo part of the circuit Roma Pass and Roma Pass.  First it was the burial place, then the fortress, later it became the seat of the Catholic church and a prison. Now it is a museum, which boasts an extensive collection of ancient weapons and amazing frescoes.
