Ingapirca (Wall of the Inca) – A beautiful Historic Site is one of the most important collapsed complexes in Cañar Province of Ecuador. It has total area of 240 sq. km. and a population of about 14,000 inhabitants. Ingapirca was a part of a big “Hacienda” or piece of land owned by one Spanish/Ecuadorian family. Here, the Archaeologists theorize was once used for religious purposes. It is said that the Incas built this fortress. They used to pray to their gods, bizarre, strange rituals were being performed here. Visitors can learn the history of the indigenous Cañaris and Incas. The place is peaceful and there are English speaking tour guide available at the site.
