Cape Promthep is a simple rocky hill with no instant interest, a perfect place for the tourists. It’s a very pleasant and scenic drive south from Patong to Phromthep Cape Lookout, which is the southernmost tip of Phuket Island, Thailand. “Phrom” in Thai is a Hindu term, “Brahma,” representing purity and “Thep” means ‘God.’ Local villagers used to refer to the cape as “Laem Chao“, or the God’s Cape, and it was an easily identifiable landmark for the early seafarers travelling up the Malay Peninsula from the sub-continent. Cape Promthep attracts many travelers from around the world. The most beautiful scene here is the Cape Promthep Sunset. The colors of the sunsets form are very rich and seem to infuse the air around you. The site also has a remarkable lighthouse. Just do not forget to take your camera, because the memories you’ll want to keep forever.
