Hornstrandir is a wonderful claw-shaped peninsula popular for hiking. Hornstrandir is located in the land bordered by the Jökulfirðir fjords to the south, the Greenland Sea to the north, and attached to the rest of the West Fjords by a narrow neck of land just 6km wide in Iceland. The place is easily reachable by boat from Ísafjörður, Bolungarvík and Norðurfjörður. This land where walking over the rocks very cold wind. For years, they have not lost hope to create a relaxed environment for the inhospitable island, but in the middle of the last century have left everything and went to try “great land.” Since 1974 the flora and fauna has been secluded and now arctic foxes, birds, seals and plants have thrive uninterrupted. The place is Paradise for Hikers. Hornstrandir is a trip to the majestic Hornbjarg cliff whose height is 533m at the eastern end of Hornvík bay and the highest point on the peninsula. The place is stunningly beautiful and extremely peaceful. Hornstrandir is a mystical place and once you visit, we are sure you will want to come back again and again.
