Ik Kil Cenote or ikil cenote is a deep natural pit generally open to the sky (formed by the breaking up of a cave), located in the Eco-archeological Park Ik Kil, nearly 3 km away from Chichén Itzá and Pisté. Called the “Sacred Blue Cenote,” . “Cenote” word is taken from Mayan language meaning well . The staircase is wonderfully lit up and carved into limestone rock and reaches the swimming platform, generally crowded with swimmers.
