There unique idea of formulating the astonishing coral reef area by submerging the statues was considered difficult at first. The project was initiated in November 2009 when 100 sculptures were placed under water. They wanted to create a museum in the natural marine environment where coral reefs could grow and fish could breed and swim as well. After some homework and proper planning the idea was executed and the amazing canon museum was born which marveled its visitors. The Cancun museum is a must see in Isla Mujeres.
