Pragser Wildsee also known as Lago di Braies is a fantastic lake located within the Natural Park Fanes in South Tyrol, Italy. It has a length of 1.2 kms. and has 300-400 meters of width. Its maximum depth is 36 meters. It takes about 1.5 hours to walk around the lake. There’s a restaurant and souvenirs shop on the bank of shore. You can park right next to the lake. You can easily hike around this lovely lake.
It is nestled in a corner of the Dolomites near to the Austrian border is a small emerald green beautiful lake, enclosed by mountains which is favored by climbers as part of the Alta Via paths. There is a fee of five Euros to park. The lake is very photogenic. Most of the walk is on the flat ground. You can rent a rowboat as there is a boathouse. Once you’re back, drive back towards the main road and stop at any of the trattorias in the small villages for a typical South Tyrolese meal.
