Some of the endemic and rare plant species found in Plitvice Lakes National Park include Edraianthus tenuifolius, Ranunculus scutatus, Scilla litardierei, Cypripedium calceolus, Ligularia sibirica, Common butterwort (Pinguicula vulgaris), Telekia speciosa and Daphne laureola. Amongst the diversified animal species the rare ones are European brown bear, wolf, eagle, owl, lynx, wild cat and capercaillie.
