The fauna includes Malayan tiger, crab-eating macaque, Sumatran rhinoceros, Malayan gaur (seladang), Asian elephant, great argus, red jungle fowl, and the rare Malayan peacock-pheasant. Another important project that is taken care by the Malaysian Government is the preservation of Malaysian Mahseer found in Tahan River.
