White House does not require any introduction. It is well known that White House is the official residence of President of United States of America and it would not be inappropriate to say it is also a world political center. White house was built in the time of George Washington but unfortunately he did not get to use this magnificent building as his home.

The whole phenomenal architecture of White House was designed by a skillful Irish-American architect named James Hoban. He was given this project after his success in architectural design competition in 1792. The competition was solely run for the reason to find a perfect architect for this task. The first president who lived in White House was John Adams, the second president of United States of America. He got elected in 1976.

In the vicinity of White house there are 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms along with the six levels which provide accommodations for all the workers, residents, foreign and local guests. You will be amazed to know that this building has in total 412 doors, 147 windows, 28 fireplaces and 8 staircases. The evolvement of White House construction is a long story as it is standing for about more than 215 years.

White House was previously referred as president’s mansion or palace, its current name was given by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1901. White House was closed to public for most of the year 2013. It was reopened to public for tours in November 2013.  In general, White House receives more than 6000 visitors each day

White House has tremendous available faculties like bowling alley, billiard room, tennis court, swimming pool, jogging track and movie theatre. There are about five chefs in White House who are on duty twenty four hours. The whole infrastructure and system of White House is busy and loaded as it receives 50,000 letters per week, about 2500-4000 calls per day and not less than 100,000 emails per day.

The design of White House inspired several other architects as today there you can also find two replicas of White House. One is located in France while the other one is in Ireland. The White House replica in France is a tourist attraction while the Ireland White House replica is for Irish parliament. The tours to White House are completely free of charge. However, there is a screening procedure that requires submission of an application prior to six months of a visit.
