Braslav Lakes National Park ­– It is one of the most lovely places in Belarus. The park is 250 km away from Minsk. It was formed in 1995, its area is about 70,000 hectares. The unique landscape of the reserve was shaped by the glacier. It is categorized by a great number of lakes, hills (the height of which reaches 30 meters) and ravines. The total region of the “mirror” of those lakes dispersed around in the hilly relief is 183 sq. km. And each of them has its own unique individuality. The Lake is about 40.4 meters deep, water limpidity in some lakes reaches 10 meters. Water ecological systems with varied and occasionally unique flora and fauna are the main wealth of the Braslav Lakes. More than 800 types of plants have been found here. More than 30 types of fish have been found here. Around 35% of all the birds nesting in Belarus have concentrated on the land of the park. . Rare animals like badgers, lynxes, brown bears, fly-squirrels, lots of elk, wild boars, roe deer wander in the park. The center of the National Park is situated in the local forests Braslav. The major gem of the park certainly is the famous Braslav Lakes. The lakes of Strusto, Snudy, Nespish and Nedrovo have particularly attractive landscapes.
